Most newborns are fussy with wetness. Modern cloth diapers come with a variety of stay-dry layer, the more common ones are: suedecloth (very stay-dry), microfleece (a bit damp), and bamboo (quite damp). When using the occasional traditional cloth diapers, I would place a layer of microfleece cloth next to his bum so that he feels relatively dry. The feeling of wetness is actually important to help babies/toddlers achieve potty-training success earlier. Research has shown that the prevalent use of disposable diapers (which are very stay-dry) has led to delayed potty-training by about 12 to 18 months. Interestingly, Vee has started to let go in the potty from 7-8 months old (mentioned <a href="http://www.mummysreviews.com/2009/11/14/babybjorn-potty-chair/" rel="nofollow">here</a>), while it is common to hear of toddlers on disposable diapers still on diapers at 3-4 years old. We tried cloth diapers for Brian before but he is too fussy and impatient to wait for a change whenever there's wetness. he wants everything fast and furious.
